Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care for all patient populations within a community hospital setting. Responsibilities include administering therapies and tests such as arterial blood gases ventilator/NIV management and nebulizer treatments in areas including the Emergency Department Critical Care ICU and medical/surgical floors.
Location:Charlotte North Carolina United States
Responsibilities:
- Administer arterial blood gases.
- Manage ventilators and NIV.
- Perform nebulizer treatments.
- Provide airway management.
- Administer medications.
- Perform 02 therapy.
- Perform suctioning.
- Perform pulmonary toileting.
- Assist with bronchoscopies.
- Provide care in the Emergency Department Critical Care ICU and medical/surgical floors.
- Perform other therapies within the scope of a Respiratory Therapist.
- Document patient care.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification
- Active NC License
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
- PALS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Experience with neonates and Labor & Delivery
- Experience with adults and geriatrics
- Airway management skills
- ABG skills
- Knowledge of 02 Therapy
- Community Hospital experience
- ER experience
- Adult ICU experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with BiPAP and CPAP
Special Considerations:
- On-call required as needed (3 on-call shifts per 6-week period).
- Floating is required as needed.
- RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a Cancel and DNR
Scheduling:
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour NIGHT shifts (18:45 07:15)
