We are seeking a Senior Systems & Azure Cloud Engineer to lead Azure infrastructure design deployment and optimization with a strong focus on M&A infrastructure integration. This is a senior hands-on engineering role-not development or data engineering. At Houston TX 77002
- Manage and maintain Azure IaaS infrastructure
- Design and implement Azure Landing Zones
- Standardize identity networking security: RBAC NSGs tagging subscription management
- Lead cloud migrations and M&A integrations (critical)
- Evaluate acquired systems (users apps servers networks) and integrate into Azure
- Optimize Azure performance availability and cost
- Implement security best practices including:
- RBAC
- Encryption
- Private endpoints
- Compliance standards
- Collaborate with infrastructure app and network teams
- Monitor Azure environments and proactively resolve issues
- Drive cost optimization using governance and reporting tools
- Automate infrastructure using PowerShell & IaC
- Support cloud governance and compliance frameworks
- Research emerging cloud-native technologies (containers service mesh AI integrations)
- Provide architecture recommendations aligned with business strategy
- Degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years in IT
- 7 years in cloud/infrastructure
- 5 years of hands-on Azure experience including:
- Azure AD
- SQL
- Policy
- Disaster Recovery
- Proven M&A infrastructure integration experience
- Expertise in:
- Azure Networking Identity Governance
- VNets NSGs VPNs routing
- Azure Route Server (ARS)
- PowerShell scripting & documentation skills
- Experience with:
- OAuth
- App registrations
- SSO and authentication patterns
- Hybrid networking and segmentation
- Knowledge of least-privilege and cloud security controls
- Hands-on with Azure Monitor or comparable tools
- Understanding of IaaS PaaS SaaS models
- Experience with compliance and logging standards
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- AWS Solutions Architect
- CISSP / CCSP / CISM
The ideal candidate is:
- Senior-level and hands-on
- Azure-first (not developer or data engineer)
- Highly capable of designing & integrating infrastructure at scale
- Able to start immediately for knowledge transfer
