Job Overview: This position exercises leadership direction supervision and administration under applicable laws rules and regulations to accomplish the work of the School Finance Division within broad policy guidance and direction established by the Office of Public Instruction.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (Behaviors):

Knowledge of concepts and theories applicable to administrative and professional accounting and budgeting for a very complex funding structure.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting; Statewide Budgeting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Knowledge of the legislative process; budget preparation budget analysis and the executive budgeting process; statistical tools and techniques research methods data gathering techniques and projection methodologies.

Knowledge of personnel management practices techniques and theory such as principles of supervision training performance appraisal recruitment and selection discipline handling goal setting and work plans.

Skilled collaborator able to advocate for needs of department and negotiate necessity.

Ability to use technology tools forecasting models and software. Thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheet applications and Word.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

5 years of professional experience in accounting or job-related experience.

3 years of senior level management experience.

Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
