The Non-Skilled Home Health Agency Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a non-skilled home health agency. This role includes supervising home health aides coordinating care and ensuring that all services meet federal state and local regulatory requirements. The supervisor plays a key role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality compassionate and consistent care in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise and manage a team of home health aides
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive orientation and training program for new hires
- Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by home health aides
- Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations and standards of practice
Client Care Oversight
- Conduct client assessments
- Develop care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
- Schedule and coordinate home health visits including:
- Initial assessments
- Follow-up visits
- Discharge planning
- Document all patient care and maintain accurate complete and timely service records
Coordination & Communication
- Communicate regularly with physicians family members and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Assist with problem-solving and care escalation when patient needs change
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in healthcare administration or a related field
- 23 years of experience in a supervisory role within a non-skilled home health agency
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong leadership and team-management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and standards of practice
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
