Are you practical motivated and ready to start a hands-on engineering career If so PETA Ltd are looking to source an exceptional Apprentice CNC Machinist Engineer for our client G W Martin.

G W Martin and PETA are offering a high-quality CNC Machinist Apprenticeship where youll learn to manufacture precision components using advanced and specialist CNC machinery while gaining a qualification.

Training to be provided:

You will study the Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship. Training is delivered through a blend of workplace mentoring and weekly off-the-job training at PETAs Havant centre. The full apprenticeship duration is 45 months.

About the role:

As an Apprentice CNC Machinist youll learn to manufacture precision components using state-of-the-art CNC machinery. Youll develop skills in reading technical drawings setting work holding programming and operating CNC machines and using measuring equipment to deliver high-quality engineering work.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Learning how to check materials before starting work
You will become competent using technical information such as using drawingsmodelsand work order cards
Set up a range ofwork holdingdevices including chucksfixturesand vices
Learning how to programme setoperateand adjust CNC machinery
Complete milling and turning operations
Adjust a range of machining parameters to produce products with a high degree of accuracy and finish
You will gain experience manufacturing parts to a high degree of accuracy and finish
Use a range of measuring equipment

Apprenticeship Progression:

On completion apprentices typically progress into full-time CNC Machinist roles with options to specialise in programming advanced multi-axis machining or quality inspection.

Our ideal CNC Machinist Apprentice:

An apprenticeship is all about learning new knowledgeskillsand behaviours therefore to be considered for this role of a Machining Apprentice you must be able todemonstratea genuine interest in Engineering and a willingness to learn.

You will alsorequire:

GCSE maths and English grade C/4 or above / or equivalent
A strong work ethic and motivated with acan-doattitude
Good communicationskills
Strong team-working capabilities
Desire to learn and develop with a passion for engineering
Good manual dexterity
