Job Overview

A large healthcare system is seeking an experienced Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) for a night-shift travel assignment. The RN will care for postpartum mothers and newborns providing patient education monitoring recovery and supporting breastfeeding and maternal needs.

Floating to similar womens health units may be required based on staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum care to mothers and routine newborn care.

• Perform patient assessments vital signs and postpartum checks.

• Educate mothers on breastfeeding newborn care and recovery.

• Administer medications and maintain accurate EMR documentation.

• Support motherinfant bonding and safe sleep practices.

• Collaborate with OB L&D Nursery and interdisciplinary teams.

• Float to related maternalchild units as needed.

• Follow all facility protocols safety guidelines and infection control standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (State of Texas or compact)

• BLS Certification Required

• NRP Certification Required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Mother Baby/Postpartum RN experience

• Strong communication skills and ability to support new mothers & families

• Ability to work night shifts and weekends as needed

• Shift: 7p7a (12-hour nights)

• Weekend Requirement: As needed

• Holiday Requirement: May be off for all holidays
