Speech Pathologist

1st Shift- Monday Friday flexible hours between 7:00AM-6:00PM

Function as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Perform Speech Therapy Evaluations. Establish Speech Therapy treatment plans. Treat patients in a variety of settings including: neurological or orthopedic settings. Patient populations served include pediatric adolescent adult geriatric. Provide patient/family education. Perform appropriate documentation in electronic medical record. Participate in patient care conferences/ staffing as appropriate. Supervise support personnel including Speech Therapist students and Rehab Aides.

• Perform Speech Therapy evaluation and development of the plan of care appropriate for each patient based on the patients physical mental emotional and developmental impairments and functional limitations. A variety of diagnoses and possibility of all 3 settings served include but are not limited to communicative cognitive and swallowing disorders
• Provide Speech Therapy interventions in accordance with established standards of care policies procedures and state/federal law. Interventions may be related to but not limited to communicative cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Supervise and complete appropriate documentation for Speech Therapy students as assigned by CCCE.
• Schedule Speech Therapy services according to department
• Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner in accordance within department and professional expectations demonstrating the need for skilled interventions.
• Participate in patient care conferences/staffing as appropriate for multidisciplinary patients.

Education:

• Masters degree from an accredited Speech Therapy program.

Experience:

• 2 years experience as a Speech Therapist.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current IA and/or IL Speech Therapy licensure (or eligible).
• Current CPR certification.
• Certification of Clinical Competency issued by ASHA within 1 year of hire.

Other:Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the knowledge of Epic.
