POSITION PURPOSE: The Mission of Student Health Services (SHS) is to build a healthy campus community by providing quality caring cost-effective accredited ambulatory healthcare and health promotion services. As part of an institution of higher learning CSUB SHS participates in the educational process by teaching students the skills for self-care promoting their health advocating for themselves and preventing diseasesthus enhancing their academic productivity and leading to a satisfying college experience.
Under general supervision of the Director of Student Health Services the Health Education Program Assistant works with the Director and Health Education Coordinator to assist in the development delivery and coordination promotion of health education programs and outreach activities. The position creates and maintains health education materials manages outreach and inventory supplies and provides logistical and administrative support for events and departmental initiatives. The incumbent assists with planning and facilitating workshops and events preparing educational materials and maintaining resources that are accurate inclusive and accessible. This position also contributes to program evaluation and assessment by collecting and organizing data summarizing participation metrics and assisting with accreditation requirements. Additional responsibilities include maintaining health education supplies and inventory providing logistical and administrative support for departmental initiatives and collaborating with campus and community partners to enhance student engagement. Through these efforts the Health Education Program Assistant advances the SHS mission by supporting evidence-based health promotion initiatives and helping students develop lifelong wellness skills that contribute to their personal and academic success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent or combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: LIGHT WORK involves mainly sitting up to 25% standing or walking; lifting medium weight objects limited to 25 pounds.
