Leading Westchester hospital seeks a Patient Safety Nurse to plan and implement a safe effective and evidence-based patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Design implement and evaluate client care by coordinating delegating and supervising the care provided by a healthcare team at the clinical level.
- Serve as the patient safety advocate and clinical role model in their specific specialty.
- Present patient and staff concerns to appropriate clinical forums.
- Participate in and contributes to clinical review activities.
- Assist and support the healthcare team with disclosure when adverse event or untoward outcome occurs and coordinates debriefing sessions.
- Identify and monitor metrics leading to improving patient care.
- Perform collaborative reviews of adverse occurrences and near misses. Incorporates such into educational efforts.
- Maintain a database of records reviewed issues identified and plans of correction.
- Assess the documentation of charts reviewed and provide timely feedback to clinicians.
Qualifications
- New York State Licensed Registered Nurse
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- A minimum of 1 year of hospital Patient Safety Quality Improvement or Risk Management experience
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 10:00 AM 6:00 PM
- No Weekend No Holiday
