Alongside our global campuses we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible remote-friendly ways of working for this role were focusing on Japan so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.

This role is a 6-month engagement working part-time.

What youll do

In line with our mission we want to ensure that each landing page has well-written unique copy thats informative and engaging. Through this copy new users can get to know Canva its features and how it can empower them to design.

For each landing page we need the high-quality copy to match. The right candidate should be able to apply Canvas tone and voice incorporate SEO optimisations provided to them in their copy and work independently while meeting a deadline.

In that direction you will:

• Create unique and well-researched articles relevant to the designated landing page;

• Ensure each output adheres to the specified word count and SEO requirements and adapt to Canvas friendly and informative tone.

• Consistently meet the required minimum output by the specified deadline.

• Work remotely and report to Canvas Japan SEO content team for copywriting projects.

• Consistently meet the 90% weekly output quality rating.

AI-Powered Efficiency

• Utilize AI tools for tasks like research drafting communications plus more

• Develop workflows to automate routine activities

• Explore new AI solutions and share successful practices with the team

• Spot inefficiencies in workflows and suggest AI-driven improvements

• Record automation strategies and add them to the shared resources

Qualifications :

What were looking for

• A native-Japanese speaker with business-level English.

• Excellent grasp of Japanese language - technically strong with a flair for either structured or creative style of writing (including spelling and grammatical structure).

• You are meticulous with details style and tone writing with clarity and empathy to deliver what is needed.

• You are quick with ideas coming up with original copy that can catch our users eye but can still match Canvas voice and brand guidelines.

• You have an eye for social trends in Japan and the evolving language that comes with them.

• You are able to understand a brief from stakeholders research accordingly and convert that brief into excellent landing page copy to meet the projects needs.

AI Fluency & Technical Comfort

• Comfortable using AI tools for drafting research and analysis

• Basic understanding of how LLMs work

• Not afraid of learning new software

Being supported by our Head of Content Marketing in Japan and the rest of our global SEO content team you will create written content that is designed to inform persuade engage and motivate our target audience to take particular actions.

About the Role/Specialty

Supported by the Head of Content marketing of the Japan SEO Team youll research and create high quality content following a precise content strategy. Based on your capacity/availability youll maintain a regular pace for writing submitting and optimising an agreed quantity of articles each month. Youll have access to a range of the best enterprise-level third-party tools as well as several platforms and products we have built in-house that help us to world-class SEO.

A large part of your work will involve: SEO content and competitor research as well as writing long form articles for Canvas Japanese blog/website. You will be able to draw inspiration from past successes of Canvas global Content Marketing Strategy. You will also be expected to deliver a high standard of content quality across your articles following the guidance and feedback from the Head of Content Strategy.
