Hours: Up to 22.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: Days/Nights
Status: Temporary Part-Time (End Date  January 15 2026)

Job Summary

Organ transplants are a life-saving treatment for patients with organ failure involving the heart liver lung kidney pancreas islet or small bowel. The Multi Organ Transplant Unit provides care to new solid organ transplant recipients and those requiring readmission for related health issues living donors and pre-transplant liver failure patients.

Our internationally renowned Multi Organ Transplant Program serves Toronto as well as Ontario Canada and the international community. A talented team of physicians surgeons nurses and other allied health professionals makes UHN a leader in transplantation worldwide. With specialists in clinical care diagnosis research and support services our high standard of care rivals any other.


Qualifications :

  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
  • Minimum one (1) year general medical/surgical experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision making skills
  • . N. preferred
  • Previous transplant nursing experience preferred
  • Previous Acute Care Unit experience preferred
  • Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario preferred
  • ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Authorization/certification care and maintenance in the following: immunosuppressive drug therapy TPN PCA Accuchek capping off central lines venipuncture IV therapy UHN Acute Care Unit Program (EKG monitoring physical assessment arterial line blood monitoring) Peritoneal Dialysis accessing hemodialysis lines removal of central lines.
