ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

  • Pay Considerations The starting salary for the position is 46883.19 Starting salary may be dependent on education qualifications and experience.
  • Work Schedule This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week 9 hours per day (36 hour work week) Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm at the North Las Vegas City Hall location. (2250 Las Vegas Blvd. N. North Las Vegas NV 89030). This position must work on-site.

THE ROLE
Under the direction of the Communications Director coordinates and implements the Citys public information consumer and constituent affairs and special projects; contributes to the Citys social media resources and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in businesspublic relations marketing journalism communications or a closely related field; and

  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent professional work experience in public relations marketing journalism communications media coverage or related area.

  • Demonstrated experience required in working with the public social media and dealing with topicsunder intense public and media scrutiny.

  • Fluency in Spanish both orally and in written is required.

  • Or an equivalent combination of education training or experience that provides the knowledgeskills and abilities required for the job and related to the essential functions of the position. The Cityassesses one (1) year of fulltime experience as equivalent to one (1) year of education.

SELECTION PROCESS

  5. Oral Board Interview

Pre-Employment Screening Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
