Job Title : QA Automation Engineer (UFT API Xray WCAG SQL Texas HHS)
Location: Austin TX (Hybrid -Local Candidates only)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification
Mandatory Qualifications - Experience writing and executing test cases and creating test plans.
- Strong knowledge of software usability concepts requirements traceability and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience with Xray Test Case Management and Jira.
- Experience working in a scrum/agile environment collaborating with teams to deliver software release sprints using Jira and SharePoint.
- Proficiency in defect tracking and management using industry-standard tools including Jira.
- Ability to log categorize and prioritize defects effectively.
- Strong SQL skills including Create Read Update and Delete operations.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Ability to develop and execute automated test cases especially around authentication user permissions and role-based access.
- Experience performing various testing types: unit integration regression smoke UAT system stress and performance testing.
- Knowledge of code coverage tools systems analysis and design concepts.
- Hands-on experience with UFT for automation testing and scripting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex technical information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a sprint development team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-driven and proactive in helping the team achieve goals and delivery milestones.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with staff and end users.
- Ability to respond to inquiries troubleshoot issues and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to accurately track and report time spent on tasks and estimate future enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- Experience using accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Experience working with the State of Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) agency or related systems.
Responsibilities - Develop execute and maintain manual and automated test cases for a variety of applications.
- Create detailed test plans test scripts and documentation aligned with project requirements.
- Work closely with business analysts developers and scrum teams to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Conduct functional regression integration and performance testing as needed.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman SOAPUI or JMETER.
- Use Xray Jira and SharePoint to manage test cases track defects and report progress.
- Ensure secure authentication and authorization validation through automated testing.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies including planning standups reviews and retrospectives.
- Analyze system behavior troubleshoot issues and support defect resolution.
- Ensure traceability of requirements to test coverage and quality metrics.
- Support accessibility testing to ensure WCAG compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software within deadlines.
