Responsibilities
Coordinates and performs Central Bone Densitometry of the Lumbar Spine and proximal femur for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Participates in the training of new personnel. Participates in performance improvement programs. Participates in patient and family education. Observes patients and notifies appropriate personnel of significant changes/incidences.
Qualifications
1. Certified in Bone Densitometry by International Society for Clinical Densitometry ISCD within one (1) year of employment.
2. Adheres to ISCD position statement.
3. Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease.
4. Working knowledge of image processing reconstruction and PACS.
5. Current BLS CPR certification.
6. Knowledge and use of proper methods of medical documentation.
7. Knowledge and use of standard procedures in womens imaging as regards bone densitometry.
