The Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS)at PennStateseeksaResearch Project Managerto join ourProject Managementteam.
ICDS is a multi-disciplinary research computing Institute supportinga diverse group of researchers from more than 70 academic departments fromnearly allof Penn States academic colleges and campuses. Wefacilitatenew collaborations fund new areas of researchandcollaborateto overcome computational and data science challenges. ICDS bringsadiverse community of scholarsand provides them withcutting-edgecomputing tools and data analysis services to further their science. This position will provide critical support to that mission.
Work Arrangement: This positionrequireson-site work and is not supportive of remote work.
This is a term position that is renewed annually with funding secured for two years from the start date and a potential for further renewal
Theresponsibilitiesof this positioninclude the following:
Facilitate research computing-based projects includingcollaboration with investigators sponsors technical staff and financial teams to ensure the delivery of projectcommitments
Collect and manage datatomonitorprojectresourcesand reports to ensure successfulexecution
Engage faculty toidentifyopportunities for direct cost recovery of ICDS resources andservices
Provides subject matterexpertisein both theresearchdiscipline and projectmanagement
Required qualifications and skills include the following:
Experience coordinating and executing on strategicobjectivestied to researchcomputing
Expertiseinrelating effectively with faculty and managing relationships acrossinstitutions
Ability to work independently and as part of ateam
Impeccable ethics and integrity with a strong workethic
and excellent organizational interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Additionaldesired qualifications and skills includethe following:
Successful candidates should be able todemonstrateexperience and skillsindeveloping and delivering communications internally within auniversity settingas well as theability to give talks to external audiences forworkshops and annual reporting to fundingagencies.Candidates shoulddemonstratetheir ability toprovidecandid and constructive feedback tohelpothers accept and implement findings and recommendationsacross technical teams.
MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

SALARY & BENEFITS
