Job Summary/Scope Provides janitorial services and minor building maintenance for REC Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Cleans and maintains floors including sweeping mopping and buffing.
- Cleans restrooms and stocks necessary supplies.
- Cleans up trash inside and outside of the building.
- Cleans and dusts various rooms and windows in the building.
- Performs general maintenance activities including changing light bulbs painting and making minor plumbing electrical and carpentry repairs.
- Daily set up and tear down of gyms for various sports/activities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Shovels snow from walkways and applies ice-melting compound(s) as necessary.
- Sets up and breaks down for special events.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Examples of professional conduct include but are not limited to being communicative informative fair honest and respectful.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Skills in minor carpentry electrical and plumbing repair.
- Knowledge of general custodial practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of various supplies used in building maintenance.
- Ability to work with various hand tools.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees.
- Ability to work flexible hours which will include evenings weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Material and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of equipment such as brooms mops cleaning supplies and a variety of other hand tools. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is mainly performed in an indoor setting. Some work may be outdoors while maintaining the grounds. Exposure to such environmental conditions as dirt dust cleaning chemicals and noise. Must be able to work with various hand tools. Must be able to work effectively with other employees. Valid Drivers License required. Some previous custodial work is preferred. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
