Job Summary

e-waste Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving growth in the e-waste management sector by acquiring new clients developing partnerships and managing relationships with organizations like corporates schools and government bodies. Key duties include identifying new business opportunities generating leads through networking and cold calling and managing the full sales cycle to meet targets. The role also involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations such as EPR guidelines and collaborating with operations teams to execute collection and recycling projects.
Core responsibilities
Business growth and lead generation: Identify and acquire new corporate institutional and government clients for e-waste collection recycling and disposal services.
Client relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
Sales and revenue generation: Achieve or exceed sales targets by closing deals which includes pitching services negotiating contracts and handling client inquiries.
EPR compliance: Understand and promote services related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance which includes managing registration fulfilling targets and coordinating with brands.
Market and trend analysis: Stay updated on market trends competitor activities and new opportunities in the e-waste recycling and sustainability sectors.
Project collaboration: Work with operations and technical teams to ensure the successful execution of e-waste collection drives data sanitization and recycling projects.
Regulatory awareness: Keep informed about environmental regulations and guidelines from bodies like the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and State Pollution Control Boards (SPCB).
Key skills and qualifications
Experience: Typically requires several years of experience in sales with a preference for candidates with a background in e-waste environmental services or B2B sales.
Education: A bachelors degree in a relevant field like Business Marketing or Environmental Science is often required.
Soft skills: Strong communication persuasion and negotiation skills are essential for client-facing interactions.
Mindset: A goal-oriented self-driven and proactive approach is necessary along with a passion for sustainability and recycling.
Technical/Domain knowledge: Familiarity with e-waste management processes data sanitization and EPR compliance is a significant advantage.
