St Hildas School Gold Coast invites applications for the position of Risk and Compliance Officer commencing 12 January 2026.
As the Risk and Compliance Officer you will play apivotal role in ensuring the school meets its legal regulatory and policy obligations across all areas of compliance risk and workplace health and safety. This role supports the development of a proactive compliance culture manages risk and ensures the safety and wellbeing of students staff and visitors.

About the Position
The Risk and Compliance Officer will work with the Director of Business and Operations Operations Manager and other key stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on compliance and risk management issues throughout the school and ensure all appropriate risk assessments registers and records are maintained. The Risk and Compliance Officer will also work in conjunction with the Schools committees involving risk and safety and provide advice on improved practices risk identification and early intervention.
This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance operational excellence with strategic thinking provide confidential advice to staff and leadership and stay ahead of legislative changes to ensure the School maintains compliance and best-practice safety and child protection standards.
Selection Criteria:
1. Technical Expertise and Systems
Demonstrated high level experience in managing complex safety child protection and compliance legislation and requirements preferably within the education or not-for-profit sector.
2. Compliance and Data Management
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and support non-financial internal audits and external regulatory reviews including preparation of documentation and follow-up on recommendations.
3. Process Improvement and Change Initiatives
Demonstrated capacity to lead process improvement and change initiatives especially in regard to complex compliance child protection workplace incident and safety systems and functions.
4. Communication and Stakeholder Management
Demonstrated ability to provide clear accurate and confidential advice on complex safety and compliance matters to leadership and staff. Strong customer service orientation with a professional and solution-focused approach to all aspects of the role.
