Job Summary

MacKillop Family Services is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Policy and Performance team. This role is pivotal in developing a coordinated approach to volunteer recruitment training and management across MacKillop ensuring consistency and compliance throughout the organisation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Coordinator you will lead the implementation of a volunteer governance framework and oversee systems that support volunteer engagement. Youll combine strategic planning with hands on coordination to ensure volunteers are recruited trained and supported effectively contributing to programs that make a real difference for children young people and families.

This position can be based in Melbourne Sydney Canberra or at our Perth office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an overarching Volunteer Governance framework including procedures manuals and assurance mechanisms.
  • Oversee induction and orientation processes for volunteers.
  • Manage volunteer training records and maintain an accurate database.
  • Design and implement communication and recruitment campaigns to attract volunteers.
  • Recruit screen train and induct volunteers for programs in scope.
  • Ensure compliance with Child Safe Standards and organisational policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate volunteer recruitment trends and program impact.

What Were Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting assessing training and supporting volunteers.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with experience in program or project design and implementation.
  • Ability to work autonomously manage deadlines and deliver outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead by influence.
  • Experience in database management and compliance processes.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture and awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal children and families.
