About the Role
The Public Safety Officer I plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients visitors and staff. This position supports daily hospital operations by monitoring grounds responding to incidents and enforcing safety and security protocols. Key Responsibilities
Patrol hospital facilities parking areas and surrounding grounds to deter unsafe or unauthorized activity.
Monitor surveillance systems alarms and access control points.
Respond to calls for assistance and provide escorts directions and safety support.
Enforce safety and security policies including visitor screening and emergency procedures.
Assist in emergency situations including behavioral incidents and medical responses.
Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment and report deficiencies.
Document incidents and maintain accurate activity logs.
Participate in required training including CPR Stop the Bleed Narcan and de-escalation.
Maintain professionalism confidentiality and respectful communication at all times.
Minimum Requirements
These requirements must be met to be considered for this position:
Valid Drivers License
At Least 1 Year of Security Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
Physical ability to stand walk climb stairs and occasionally restrain individuals as part of a team.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must be at least 21 years old (exceptions may apply for individuals with military law enforcement or comparable healthcare security experience).
Ability to work rotating shifts weekends holidays and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Security or healthcare security certifications (e.g. CHPA CHSO).
Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
Experience with surveillance alarms and access control systems.
Licensure Requirements
Salary Range: Minimum $0/hour - Maximum $0/hour. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
