Roles & Responsibilities

• Own assigned RCA from a technical & process perspective with cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis to achieve timely and robust issue resolution.

• Form and lead team through 8D process identify stakeholders and subject matter experts. Work with leadership to ensure workstreams are effective on track and prioritized.

• Identify safety considerations presented by the issue or containment actions and coordinate support by additional teams to mitigate customer pain.

• Identify root causes & contributing factors using established problem-solving tools. Guide subject matter experts in discussions. Execute methods for additional evidence (data lab teardown failure turn-on/turn-off etc.).

• Lead team in conceptualizing design and/or process changes evaluating changes for impact on eliminating failure causes modes or effects and down-selecting and prioritizing based on impact and cost effectiveness.

• Own internal & external (customer) communications related to RCAs coordinate stakeholder input providing information and formats based on need and audience.

• Make stop-the-line recommendations (turbine manufacturing supplier etc.) and define criteria for resuming operation.

• Work across multiple components and products as an integrated system for maximum performance and operability

• Understand product and systems requirements specifications and flow down across platforms product configurations and configuration control system.

• Use judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/ product management technology or engineering.

• Create and drive expedite fleet communications - correct documentation manuals work instructions TILs etc

• Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.

• Partner with Commissioning Service Sourcing and Engineering to deliver best in class solutions as quickly as possible

• Partner with Sourcing on vendor recovery of supplier-caused defects. Support commercial and technical discussions with our suppliers to achieve field quality issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in engineering or technical discipline from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant work experience preferably in the wind industry.

Desired Characteristics

• Detailed understanding of the product development cycle and wind turbine systems.

• Detailed understanding of the 8D problem solving process.

• Positive resourceful clear and strategic thinking problem solver mindset. Able to think outside of the box to bring creative sustainable solutions to complex scenarios.

• Proven RCA technical expertise and project closure.

• Proven analytical and learning skills facilitating in breaking down problems documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

• Good written and verbal communication skills and working in global team environment enabling seamless communication on execution status issues and resolutions.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Product reliability mindset.

• Strong field and customer mind-set. Experience with internal and/or external customer communications particularly with product quality topics like RCAs.

• Influential leadership experience with credibility the ability to partner energize and focus teams to deliver on priorities.

• Self-starter with personal ownership and accountability.

• Ability to understand business processes issues and concerns and translate into solutions.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams.
