Job Summary
Were looking for a dynamic storyteller to join our team as a WakeupNews Anchor-someone who can deliver trusted compelling news across all platforms and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.
What Youll Do
- Present news and content across broadcast digital and social platforms with clarity and authenticity.
- Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Write and deliver stories that are accurate concise and engaging.
- Collaborate with producers and team members to shape impactful newscasts.
- Contribute to writing editing research and content development.
- Report from the field and conduct interviews as assigned.
- Respond quickly to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations.
- Represent the station at community events and promotional activities.
- Engage audiences through involvement in WIVB and creation of social media videos to expand reach and brand presence.
- Take on special projects and additional duties as needed.
- Salary - $70000 to $80000
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in news reporting or anchoring.
- Exceptional on-air presence and strong communication skills-comfortable ad-libbing when needed.
- Excellent news judgment and deep knowledge of local national and global issues.
- Proven ability to lead mentor and inspire team members.
- Skilled in multitasking meeting deadlines and thriving under pressure.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in newsroom systems and digital tools.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights weekends and breaking news situations.
