Video Applications Engineer
Aversan Inc.() is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company. Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace defence and space industries.We are looking for an experienced Video Applications Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in both front-end and back-end development of video software applications along with hands-on experience integrating video systems within vehicle platforms.Location: London OnJob Type: Full TimeWorking Arrangement: On-site Responsibilities
- A Diploma or Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Hands-on development experience using C C Python SQL or QT.
- Strong understanding of digital video compression decompression and processing techniques.
- Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving integration issues both in lab environments and on vehicles.
- Familiarity with distributed version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Excellent communication organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Must meet anthropometric size standards required for working in confined spaces.
- Willingness and ability to travel (approximately 5% within Canada and 5% internationally including the U.S.) with a valid passport or ability to obtain one.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada qualify for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) certification and be eligible for access to ITAR-controlled data and equipment.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain Secret Level security clearance.
Basic Qualifications
- Over 2 years of software development experience across multiple platforms
- Hands-on experience working with Data Distribution Service (DDS)
- Skilled in using common development environments such as Eclipse-based IDEs.
- Familiar with wiring diagnosing and debugging digital circuits.
- Experienced in developing applications for video processing and manipulation.
- Knowledgeable in vehicle communication network protocols including CAN Bus and SAE J1939.
- Proficient in managing tasks and workflows using JIRA.
