Tink delivering Open Banking Solutions as a part of Visa is building an open banking platform that enables banks fintech and startups to develop data-driven financial services. Through one API Tink allows customers to access aggregated financial data initiate payments enrich transactions and build personal finance management tools. Tink connects to more than 3400 banks that reach over 250 million bank customers across Europe & US. Our solutions are ready-to-go products each developed to solve specific problems and bring value to both businesses and their customers.

As part of the initiative we are building Visas Open Banking engineering team in Bangaloredesigned from the ground up to be AI-first. Every engineer in this team will work in close collaboration with Generative AI agents as development companions leveraging Visas extensive portfolio of AI models tools and experimentation platforms. This AI-augmented approach will supercharge every stage of the engineering lifecyclefrom solution design and code generation to testing deployment monitoring and continual service improvementenabling us to deliver innovative high-quality connectivity solutions at unprecedented speed and scale.

Role Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer in this team you will:

• Lead the design and implementation of new features and systems ensuring it meets the highest standards of scalability reliability and performance
• Build high-performance scalable APIs integrating with both documented and undocumented banking interfaces.
• Co-develop integrations / features side-by-side with GenAI agents to dramatically increase speed-to-market and code quality.
• Operate in a true DevOps modelowning build deploy and maintain responsibilities in the cloud.
• Continuously experiment with Visas rich portfolio of Generative AI models (transformers LLMs GANs VAEs multimodal models) and cutting-edge AI tools for production and innovation.
• Deliver new features on a rapid cadence (every few days) with end-to-end accountability.

What You Will Do

• AI-Powered Development
  • Partner with GenAI agents for code generation refactoring and automated testing.
  • Experiment in Visas AI sandbox where multiple GenAI models and frameworks are available for employee-driven innovation.
  • Apply Generative AI models to API integration challenges anomaly detection and intelligent automation.
• Open Banking Integrations
  • Build components integrating with banks APIs to aggregate and enrich consumer financial data.
  • Handle high-load systems with stringent uptime requirements.
  • Work with Visas Tink technologies stack: Java JavaScript AWS Kubernetes Docker SQL Datadog and much more.
• Cloud-Native DevOps
  • Own end-to-end delivery: design build deploy monitor and maintain services in AWS/Kubernetes/Docker environments.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines infrastructure-as-code and automated observability using Datadog and related tooling.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and operational excellence.
• Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Contribute to AI-first engineering culturesharing learnings from model experimentation and leveraging AI engineering assistants.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site) with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer with experience of building innovative and scalable products. You understand the trade-offs of speed vs quality on technical decisions and look at problems from different angles. You also invest time in your own and the teams development to build up your overall knowledge.

We would like you to have:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 8-12 years of Software Development Experience or a Masters with at least 6-12 years of Software Development Experience.
• Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for new systems and enhancing and modernizing legacy systems 
• Proven experience as a strong Senior/Staff Engineer leading technical teams in fintech or fullstack/backend systems.
• Extensive experience working with Java and Javascript
• Experience with Generative AI:
  • Experience of prompt engineering and tooling orchestration for AI agents in enterprise environments ensuring reproducibility and compliance.
  • Understanding of transformers GANs VAEs and other generative architectures.
  • Application of NLP multimodal AI and AI-powered developer tools in production systems.
• Experience with cloud-native DevOps:
  • AWS Kubernetes Docker CI/CD pipelines infrastructure-as-code
• Experience in agile product-centric environments with rapid iteration cycles.

Nice-to-have:

• Operational excellence & incident response experience.
• Financial API integration experience.

Experience mentoring engineers in AI-assisted development.
