We are looking for a Laboratory Technician / Chemical Technician to join our Applications & Technologies team in Allschwil.
This role includes the responsibility of development and implementation of analytical methods to be used on separation processes monitoring. Additional task will be sampling and analyzing samples developing and reviewing validation protocols investigating discrepancies in the results and perform troubleshooting in the instruments.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Characterization analysis involving the main techniques: Headspace and liquid sampling GC (MS FID and TCD) HPLC (UV and RI) ICP-OES UV-VIS spectrophotometer titration water content density viscosity etc.
- Development and implementation of analytical methods.
- Support of execution of internal and external test projects for the development and optimization of process technologies.
- Suggest and implement improvements in the analytical laboratory.
- Instrument Expert responsible for analytical equipment (i.e. perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting internal or external and making sure that the systems are functioning correctly).
- Cooperation in the implementation of measures regarding Safety and Environment.
- Preparation of the lab for day use customer tests and being available for sampling and analysis during projects execution.
To succeed in this role you will need:
- Finished apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician
- At least two years of experience in chemical petrochemical pharmaceutical or flavor & fragrance environment
- Good technical knowledge in analytical chemistry is essential
- Highly proficient with various instruments and techniques such as GC (MS FID and TCD) HPLC (UV and RI) ICP-OES UV-VIS spectrophotometer titration and measurement of physical properties such as density and viscosity
- Awareness for safe handling of chemicals potentially hazardous materials and equipment
- Experience in assembly and operating mini or pilot plant equipment is an advantage
- Great team player strong communication skills strong organization ability very independent flexible trustworthy and adaptable
- Fluency in English and good German skills are needed
