Your Impact

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team on a parental leave coverage assignment. Under the direction of the Occupational Therapy Department Head you will support students development across sensory integration visual-perceptual and visual-motor skills fine motor development self-care and vocational readiness. Your work will directly contribute to students academic and social growth while collaborating closely with classroom teams and related service providers.

This temporary role is full-timeruns from March 2026 through early October 2026and follows theschool-year calendar. Each school year includes:

  • 181-day school year SeptemberJune MondayFriday 7:45 a.m.3:15 p.m.
  • 23-day summer program JulyAugust MondayThursday 8:25 a.m.3:15 p.m.
  • Participation in required trainings (e.g. Safety Care) and school community events such as Parent Open House

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing supportive creative and active occupational therapy interventions that promote student growth

  • Observing and consulting with classroom teams; suggesting activities modeling lessons and co-teaching as appropriate

  • Maintaining accurate data on student progress toward individualized goals and objectives

  • Collaborating with teachers and related service providers to support clinical programming in classrooms

  • Assisting with preparation of materials and scheduling activities

  • Participating in meetings trainings and professional development to support school and organizational priorities

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Experience directly related to the job functions and responsibilities specified

  • Coursework in occupational therapy

  • Massachusetts Occupational Therapy License and NBCOT certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university

  • 13 years of experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy

  • Coursework or experience in Deaf Education Special Education Assistive Technology Pediatric Therapy or Early Childhood

  • Familiarity with ASL or a willingness to learn

    • Interpreters are available during school days; free ASL classes provided

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role involves supporting students across varied learning environments and may include assisting students weighing 40 lbs. or more. Participation in emergency preparedness drills is required. CCCBSD provides reasonable accommodations to ensure accessibility and success in the role.
