By joining our Automation Engineering team you will be part of our strategic aim to build and roll out Volvo Cars Agentic automation strategy. Our mission is to leverage AI Agents and RPA to automate workflows and business processes enabling smarter decisions and faster innovation across the company.

Main responsibilities
As our Lead Agentic Workflow & AI Automation Developer you will be the technical anchor for our Agentic AI deliveries. You will design build and deploy Agent-driven solutions that automate complex workflows and business processes. Youll also help set standards mentor others and guide the technical foundation for AI agent development.
Act as a senior advisor and hands-on expert in AI-powered process automation with a flexible system- and tool-agnostic mindset.
Engage with business stakeholders to clarify value or explorative ideas and translate them into well-defined & impactful use-cases to implement.
Evaluate and recommend optimal approaches and technologies to solve business problems effectively and responsibly.
Scope design & build Agentic process automation solutions that include agentic workflow orchestration LLMs & other cognitive or ML based solutions.
Manage the full lifecycle of agentic automation solutions ensuring solutions remain secure scalable and aligned with evolving business needs.
Share knowledge and support broader automation strategies that involve elements of agentic capabilities enabling re-usable components that helps other scale faster.
Collaborate closely with analysts developers and application owners to ensure solutions are feasible scalable and aligned with strategic goals.
Work closely with the AI Platform team to adopt and extend the standardized agentic frameworks tools and governance patterns.
Contribute learnings and reusable agent components back into the AI Platform ensuring organizational scale and avoiding duplicated work.
You are passionate about AI and automation and you thrive in a collaborative environment where engineers and business teams solve problems together. You combine deep technical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills.
Strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing AI-powered process automation solutions using tools such as Microsoft AI Foundry Copilot Studio LangChain or similar.
Hands-on experience with prompt design evaluation and safety mechanisms for non-deterministic agent behaviors.
Experience in implementing & managing orchestration frameworks to deliver business automation solutions.
Experience integrating AI agents with enterprise systems via APIs connectors and workflow engines.
Understanding of lifecycle management for AI agents including versioning testing monitoring and regression handling.
Excellent analytical and business consulting skills with the ability to ask the right questions challenge assumptions and define clear solution scopes.
Proven ability to support technology adoption and transformation within cross-functional teams
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Solid project management competence with the ability to plan coordinate and follow through on initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and moving components.
Experience in AI governance standards & quality assurance practices for non-deterministic workflows.
This role has great potential for growing into a managerial role hence having leadership experience is meriting.
