SKF Automotive has companies in 39 countries and a product assortment of more than 300.000 items. At SKF youll be part of a central team overseeing a globally harmonized customs classification process ensuring compliance enabling smoother trade flows and contributing directly to SKFs growth and competitiveness.
Here youll work with a network of local customs experts interact with customs authorities and be the go-to expert for classification decisions. Youll also be part of a company that values precision innovation and continuous improvement where your skills will be appreciated and your contributions will matter.
What you can expect in the role
Establish andmaintainglobal customs classification standardsby creating central rules and guidelines for commercial descriptions andcustoms tariffcodesof39countries.
Decide on global HS codesfor the SKFAutomotiveproduct assortment and approve local deviations to ensure maximum harmonization across markets.
Prepare and managenationalruling requests(BTI)when needed ensuring compliance and clarity in classification decisions.
Support local customs expertsduring interactions with authorities (e.g. audits inspections rulings) and contribute to training and competence development.
Maintain and update master data in GTS including scheme updates and subscription tables and follow up on changes with content provider PST.
Act as system expertfor customs classification in GTS and other SKF systems handling incidents demands.
We expect you to have
Solid experience incustoms classificationfor import/export businessin a global context.
Comprehensive understanding of technical product features acrossthe automotiverange of SKF products and the ability to explain them clearly.
Activeknowledgeof customs classification principles(GRI)withthe abilitytoapplylegal and explanatory notes publishedbytrusted sources such as the WCO and national customs authorities.
Proficiencyin working with official bodies such as customs authorities and regulatory institutions.
Effective collaboration and communication skills enabling you to coordinate across borders align withlocalSKF customs teams justify classification decisions to experts and build relationships with global partners and service providers.
Fluency in English both spoken and are a plus.

Some additional information
This position can be located at any SKF Automotive site globally. Preferred sites are in Europe such as Germany France Italy Spain and Belgium. Employment will be on a local contract.
