A Design Engineer specializes in the planning organization and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of facilities such as roads railroads bridges and water systems. This individual is responsible for planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the evaluation selection application and adaptation of engineering techniques procedures and criteria and is also responsible for devising new approaches to problems and preparing or modifying drawings specifications calculations charts and graphs and monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.

This position will include travel to the Schaumburg IDOT offices.

REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE: Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Exercises good judgment in following standard techniques procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design tasks. Contact with others is primarily internal.
SUPERVISION: Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
EXPERIENCE: Typically requires no previous professional experience. Bachelors degree in engineering is required. EIT certificate is preferred. CADD experience is required.
