Discover more about potash at Nutrien! This is an open posting for Co-op Mechanical Engineering students beginning May 2026 for 16-month term.

This is a temporary full-time hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete.

  • This position is not available for remote work.
  • Applicants who express interest sooner will have the best chance of being matched with a position.
  • Potential locations for Saskatchewan: Vanscoy Lanigan and Rocanville
  • Term (16 months): Dates can be adjusted/extended to coincide with school terms:
    • Spring 2026 - May 4 2026 - August 27 2027

What you will do:

  • Assist the Engineering department with various duties including:
  • Collaborate on meaningful projects.
  • Provide technical support on various key initiatives.
  • Analyze data to support continuous improvement recovery improvement and cost reduction.
  • Work to optimize process and productivity in collaboration with maintenance engineering and operations.
  • May also be involved in design work and project management.

What you will bring:

  • Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 2 years of an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program (or equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term.
  • Demonstrated positive safety behaviour and safety leadership.
  • Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training.
  • Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills.
  • Motivation to set and achieve goals take initiative and nurture projects forward.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with mining or heavy industrial experience.
  • 3D CAD skills especially in Inventor would be considered an asset but not required.
