How you will contribute
An Infection Preventionist who excels in this role:
Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organizations infection prevention and control strategies policies and planning.
Collects and performs statistical analysis interpretation and dissemination of healthcare associated infection data including risk assessment surveillance priorities and outcomes analysis.
Monitors local state and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies standards and requirements.
Assists with the development of Infection Prevention educational resources and initiatives.
Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.
Membership in either APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) or SHEA (Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America)

What we are looking for
Applicants should have a bachelors degree in either Nursing Applied Science Medical Technology Microbiology Epidemiology or another related field. Masters Degree (Preferred)
Additional requirements include:
State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License (preferred)
Certified Infection Control (CIC) within 2 years of hire/transfer
2 years of healthcare related experience.
