The University of Tennessees Natalie L. Haslam College of Music is seeking a dynamic music educator to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a collaborative spirit bring expertise in elementary/general music education and contribute to our undergraduate and graduate music education offerings including a forthcoming online graduate degree in music education. The candidate should also work collaboratively with other College of Music faculty to sustain and support the music education program maintain a research/creative/scholarly activity profile commensurate with appointed rank and demonstrate a commitment to forward-thinking curriculum development innovation and community engagement.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in elementary music education leading graduate courses in areas of expertise coordinating field experience internships and supervising student teachers/interns. The successful candidate will actively participate in professional development for elementary/general music educators develop regional and national visibility as an elementary/general music educator and develop and maintain positive relationships with inservice music educators. The candidate is also expected to serve on graduate committees and participate in various education and professional development opportunities including TMEA (ETGMEA) ACDA CNAfME and NAfME.
