Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele)
Location: Rochester NY 14621
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shifts Available:
Days: 412 (07:0019:00)
Nights: 412 (19:0007:00)
Schedule Type: No block scheduling
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Orientation: 16 hours
Start Requirement: Active NY RN license in hand no exceptions
Position Overview
A large tertiary-care hospital is seeking experienced MS/Tele RNs for a rotating day/night schedule. Nurses must be able to manage an acute patient population with ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 and demonstrate strong telemetry cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills. This role includes care delivery in an Acute Stroke Unit environment providing specialized evidence-based treatment for stroke and neurological patients.
Requirements
Licensure & Experience
Active NY RN license in hand (mandatory)
Minimum 1 year MS/Tele or acute care experience
First-time travelers welcome
Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
NIHSS (Required)
Technical & Clinical Skills
EPIC charting experience required
Cardiac monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation
Participation in Rapid Response and Code events
MedSurg ratios 1:51:7
Peripheral IV care and phlebotomy
Isolation precautions
Respiratory support including:
Nasal cannula
Oxygen face mask
Portable oxygen tank
Non-invasive airway support
