Job Summary

Reporting into the Director of Sales & Marketing as a Sales Manager - Food & Beverage Outlets you will be responsible for:

  • Proactive sales approach by building rapport with existing and prospective clients and successful delivery of sales and marketing strategies will see you attract new business opportunities that maximize revenue for the hotel and specifically its F&B outlets

  • Proactively soliciting and managing group/catering-related opportunities and actively up-sells each outlet to achieve personal team related revenue goals and ensures business is secured in a timely manner

  • Driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Provides service to our customers in order to grow the account on behalf of Marriott International across the enterprise

Detailed Job Description:

Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales Opportunities

Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g. Event Booking Center Market Sales Strategic Accounts) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated complementary and not duplicative.

Develop strategic and innovative action plans to proactively target key accounts and new business opportunities

Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls entertainment FAM trips trade shows etc.

Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to secure business and negotiate contracts

Ensures revenue optimization through effective selling and negotiation strategies

Develops and foster relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities.

Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Provides accurate complete and effective turnover to Event Management/outlets .

Conducting sales trips up to three out weeks a month or as required.

KPI goals set on F&B production and rates.

Conducting Daily Sales Activities that Achieve Department Goals

Responds to incoming individual/group/catering opportunities for the property..

Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate business.

Works with sales resources and administrative/support staff effectively and collaboratively.

Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposal writing contract customer correspondence).

Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue

Identifies new individual/group/catering business to achieve personal and property revenue goals.

Understands the overall market - competitors strengths and weaknesses economic trends supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them for each outlet.

Closes the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and property needs.

Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize restaurant occupancy.

Gains understanding of the outlets primary target customers and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business business issues and concerns to offer better business solution both prior to and during the program/event.
