Your role at Sephora

As a Production Control Planner you will be responsible for directing and optimizing the flow of work and labor within our Omni-Channel Distribution Center (ODC) in Avon Indiana. You will ensure operational plans are executed efficiently by monitoring system performance balancing demand with staffing and proactively addressing potential bottlenecks or downtime. This role collaborates closely with operations maintenance and management teams to develop and adjust production plans drive continuous improvement and support the achievement of key performance targets in a dynamic fast-paced environment. You will also lead and develop a team of Flow Controller Coordinators.

What Youll Do:

  • Monitor and optimize system and process performance proactively identifying and addressing risks or downtime to maintain efficient operations.
  • Develop and adjust labor assignments based on demand status and operational needs to ensure balanced productivity and maximize throughput.
  • Create tactical production plans at the start of each shift and modify them as needed to respond to real-time operational challenges.
  • Analyze historical data and key metrics to identify recurring issues implement solutions and recommend process improvements for operational excellence.
  • Utilize predictive planning and expected production rates to inform necessary shifts in labor across functions communicating adjustments to supervisors and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate scheduled downtime with the maintenance team and incorporate it into daily production plans; manage escalation and response for downtime events.
  • Serve as a key point of contact providing timely updates and coordinating with supervisors operations maintenance and external partners to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Collaborate with operations and business partners to align on forecasts and store order delivery schedules (ODS).
  • Develop strong working relationships with shift supervisors engineering operations leadership and external business partners.
  • Communicate effectively with building maintenance as issues arise monitoring and publishing issues potential resolutions and prioritizing which issues to address.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in emails and SharePoint; utilize MS Office Suite and other reporting tools to track and communicate operational metrics.
  • Lead coach and develop Flow Controller Coordinators by setting clear expectations fostering professional growth delivering regular feedback and ensuring the team has the resources needed to achieve goals.

What Youll Bring:

  • 7 years of technical and operational experience in WMS/automation and production planning.
  • Previous experience with software/automation systems in a logistics environment (ASRS high-speed sortation warehouse management warehouse execution labor and reporting tools).
  • College degree preferred in supply chain engineering or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience with top-tier WMS/WES Labor Reporting Systems MOST and Standards Pro JDA/Blue Yonder Manhattan or equivalent LMS.
  • Experience working and Retail DC systems and operations.
  • Proven experience working directly and collaboratively with DC Operations building effective relationships with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations.

  • Strong MS Office Suite skills especially Excel Access and Visio.
  • Working knowledge of DC operational practices and procedures and a strong understanding of supply chain and WMS concepts.
  • Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead coach and develop direct reports.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.

Where and How:

  • Location. ODC Avon Indiana
    • Operates within a distribution center environment combining both office-based tasks (computer work) and significant time spent on the warehouse floor.
    • Exposure to typical warehouse conditions including varying temperatures moderate to high noise levels and frequent walking and standing on hard surfaces.
  • Occasional physical demands involve bending kneeling and lifting up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
  • Availability. This role will primarily function during traditional business hours Mon-Fri but may require availability including evenings weekends and holidays.

The annual base salary range for this position is $83810.00- $93670.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors which may include as applicable the applicants qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
