Part-Time Lecturer for KM6312 Information Mining and Analysis
We are seeking a part time lecturer to teach the course KM6312 Information Mining and Analysis.
This course offered within the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Informations MSc in Knowledge Management (MSc KM) programme introduces students to the principles and practices of knowledge discovery and data mining. It covers the end-to-end discovery process including data preparation statistical analysis and methods for extracting meaningful insights from large datasets. Core machine learning techniques such as decision tree induction nearest neighbour classification Bayesian learning neural networks association rules and clustering are explored. The course also addresses approaches for handling unstructured data including text and web mining with emphasis on applications in knowledge management.
The preferred candidate will have experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level or relevant industry expertise along with a solid understanding of the topics covered in the course. The course is delivered through a weekly three-hour session that may include lectures tutorials and seminar discussions. The instructor is responsible for leading these sessions as well as syllabus design class preparation assessment marking and student consultation.
