Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit (PCU / MSDU)
Location: Rochester NY 14621
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights 312 hours (19:0007:00)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Orientation: 16 hours
Block Scheduling: Not available
Start Requirement: NY License in hand no exceptions
Position Overview
A large tertiary-care hospital is seeking an experienced PCU/MSDU Registered Nurse who can manage a mixed acuity patient load and float to Medical-Surgical assignments with ratios up to 1:51:7. Candidates must be comfortable providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment with strong cardiac monitoring capabilities.
Requirements
Licensure & Experience
Active NY RN license in hand (mandatory)
Minimum 1 year of PCU/MSDU or similar experience
First-time travelers accepted
Certifications
BLS (Required)
Technical & Clinical Skills
EPIC charting experience required
Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
Participation in Rapid Response & Code teams
MedSurg patient ratios up to 1:51:7
Peripheral IV care/management
Isolation precautions
Respiratory support including:
Nasal cannula
Face mask oxygen
Portable oxygen tank
Non-invasive airway support
