Unit / Team

The CTO function is part of Information Technology Services and provides infrastructure security technical services service management and support services for the Atradius group and its customers.

Within the CTO the Applications Management Team is responsible for providing and maintaining the company Scheduling environments (BMC Control-M and Visualcron) the job execution environment the production output processing environments and for the technical management and maintenance of the supporting applications that underpin these batch and output environments and support this estate.

This role would suit a candidate proficient in the use the Control-M scheduling tool and used to working in a 24x7 Operational environment.

Job description

The scheduling analyst is responsible for

• Installation configuration and upgrade of the Control-M & Visual Cron software suites
• Monitoring and reviewing batch schedule performance; report with recommendations for improvement poor performing schedule configuration code and batch applications.
• Applying required scheduling changes
• Installation configuration and upgrade of the Microfocus Server Software suit
• Supporting the job output and report wrapper scripts
• Installation configuration and upgrade of Thunderhead software environments
• Installation configuration and upgrade of the Nuance Output Manager application
• Administration & support of Informatica products which include PowerCenter IDQ & BDM
• Applying agreed application updates and software patches (release packages) to the pre-Production environment; confirming the validity of the package and prepare the production implementation.
• Ensure the provision of suitable backup procedures
• Provide and review appropriate standards acceptance criteria and technical procedures
• Analyse and resolve Production problems and incidents
• Provide technical support for System Operators
• Provide technical expertise for BRR and DR

Key Skills

The successful candidate would ideally possess:

• Expertise in batch processing and job scheduling
• Good understanding of JCL
• Good understanding of shell scripting
• Knowledge of Linux and UNIX commands
• Basic knowledge of Oracle database structures
• Understand the fundamentals of ITIL
• Experienced in root-cause analysis and providing solutions to problems
• Be methodical in testing and implementation planning

Key Job requirements

• Experience of a job scheduling tool particularly Control-M
• Preferably some experience of a Microfocus environment
• Experience of working in a global commercial enterprise level organisation
• Experience of working in a 24x7 operational environment
• Good spoken and written English
• Work confidently and efficiently with other technicians and teams
• Participate in an on-call rota supporting the scheduled and batch operation
