Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and supports nursing staff within a fast-paced hospital environment. This role focuses on delivering safe efficient and compassionate care while assisting with daily activities and clinical tasks to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing grooming toileting repositioning and feeding.
- Measure and record vital signs including temperature pulse blood pressure oxygen saturation and respiration rate.
- Assist with patient mobility: turning transferring ambulating and transporting patients to diagnostic tests or procedures.
- Support nurses with specimen collection patient monitoring and basic clinical duties as directed.
- Maintain patient safety by following fall-prevention protocols and reporting any changes in condition immediately.
- Ensure patient rooms and equipment are clean organized and restocked.
- Provide comfort measures to patients including answering call lights promptly and offering emotional support.
- Document patient care accurately in the hospitals charting system.
- Follow all hospital policies infection control standards and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state.
- Hospital experience preferred but strong LTC or clinical experience may be accepted depending on the facility.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (required for hospital settings).
- Ability to work in a high-acuity fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and assist with patient mobility.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Shifts may include 12-hour days or nights weekends and holidays based on hospital needs.
- Work involves constant movement patient interaction and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
