Objectives of the function :To lead and execute precision measurement and inspection activities using advanced metrology tools and techniques ensuring dimensional accuracy and compliance with engineering specifications for sheet metal machined welded forged and cast components etc
Responsibilities :
Develop and optimize CMM programs using Metrolog software.
Perform dimensional inspection of sheet metal machined forging and casting parts.
Operate and manage 3D scanning equipment for complex geometries and reverse engineering.
Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Use precision instruments like vernier calipers micrometers height gauges and custom gauges.
Conduct calibration and maintain traceability of measuring instruments.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Train junior engineers and technicians in metrology practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in measurement accuracy and inspection efficiency.
Authorities :
Approve inspection reports and measurement protocols.
Recommend calibration schedules and equipment upgrades.
Lead metrology-related audits and technical reviews.
Professional skills :
Expert in CMM programming using Metrolog. (online & offline)
Skilled in 3D scanning reverse engineering and CAD comparison.
Proficient in GD&T drawing interpretation and metrology standards.
Hands-on experience with various measuring instruments and calibration techniques.
Standard Awareness :
Occupational Health Safety environment Quality policy awareness & Energy Management policy awareness.
ISO standard awareness
ISO ASME and other relevant metrology standards in inspection processes
Education : Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Professional experience :
IT Skills : Proficiency in Metrolog MS Office Power-BI Creo and CAD software.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Leadership in technical training and mentoring.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other CMM software (e.g. PC-DMIS Calypso).
Familiarity with automation in inspection processes.
Exposure to quality systems like ISO 9001 IATF 16949.
Knowledge of inspection of Electrical & Electronics Components will be nice to have
