Job Summary


Due to the expansion of our charity One YMCA is seeking an experienced IT Desktop Engineer to join our small internal team working alongside our Managed Services Provider. This role provides IT support to approximately 650 staff across more than fifty locations so it involves a significant amount of travel and hands-on support.

The ideal candidate:
Will be confident proactive and able to use their initiative with proven experience providing desktop support in a corporate or multi-site environment.
You will be responsible for setting up IT environments in new locations which requires a strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking as well as experience installing and configuring computers routers VOIP systems CCTV cameras and network switches.
You should also be able to troubleshoot and resolve a range of IT issues including software hardware and cabling faults ensuring a varied and interesting workload.

As One YMCA upgrades its infrastructure including replacing legacy firewalls with Cisco Meraki hardware experience with Meraki products would be advantageous. You will spend a considerable amount of time working unsupervised across multiple sites so strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively are essential.

We are looking for
Someone motivated enthusiastic dependable and trustworthy who works well both independently and as part of a growing team in a busy environment.
A flexible approach to working hours is required to ensure deadlines and project objectives are met.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential although transport may be provided in some circumstances.

Hours per week: 37.5
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday / 37.5 hours per week

One YMCA and its subsidiaries the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025.   • Family support through a network of childrens and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
  • Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire Luton and Hertfordshire
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
