Duties & Responsibilities
Additive Manufacturing
The Additive Manufacturing Research Group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty School of Engineering is looking for qualified candidates to apply for a post-doctoral fellow position in additive manufacturing. Potential candidates should be highly motivated self-driven and able to independently conduct high-quality research. The incumbent must be able to write technical research reports publish findings in DHET-accredited peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences and carry out other tasks as delegated (e.g. postgraduate supervision / co-supervision etc.).
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Ph.D. in mechanical or metallurgical and materials engineeringobtained within 5 years before appointment.
- Good record of publications.
- Hands-on expertise in materials characterization testing and post processing.
- Knowledge of computational modelling and simulation will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
