Job Summary:
The Server is responsible for providing prompt courteous and knowledgeable service to all guests in accordance with company standards while supporting overall guest satisfaction and revenue goals.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Greet and serve guests in a warm professional and efficient manner.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items; accurately describe ingredients preparation methods and portions and make informed recommendations.
- Take food and beverage orders enter them accurately into the POS system and ensure timely delivery.
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and in compliance with all state and local laws and company policies.
- Handle all payments accurately: add subtract multiply and divide to process checks provide correct change balance cash and prepare cash drops.
- Operate the Point of Sale system (Micros preferred) or similar with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized station and ensure tables and service areas are properly set and reset.
- Adapt to changing situations guest volumes and guest needs while maintaining a calm friendly and professional demeanor.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with bartenders hosts kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Present a professional appearance and adhere to uniform and grooming standards including slip-resistant footwear.
- Uphold all company policies health and safety standards and service standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior serving or hospitality experience in a lounge bar or restaurant preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written.
- Basic math skills to accurately handle cash and payments.
- Experience with a POS system (Micros preferred) is a plus.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcohol in California.
- Ability to stand walk and carry trays or items for extended periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Positive attitude strong work ethic and a genuine passion for hospitality.
