ORGANISATION PROFILE / PROGRAMME SUMMARY: ROLE PURPOSE: The Livelihoods Coordinator will be supporting the livelihood Officer in the implementation of the livelihoods and life skills activities for unaccompanied children and youth refugees Migrant and host communities living Aswan and surrounding areas. The post holder will provide technical support and leadership to the life skill & livelihood community coaches including assessment career guidance and training through remote and office modalities. The position holder will also be responsible for regular monitoring of implementation. S/he will play a key role in leading the life skill & Livelihoods mentors to achieve the project targets with the agreed quality including the full process of selection of beneficiaries preparing and delivering of the essential skills training coaching technical training needed and also support the wage employment component. Projects Scope: The project is funded from the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC) and will be based in Aswan. The project duration is one year from January 2026 to December 2026. The project will be targeting Sudanese community in Aswan based in Aswan field office and the team will be working and based across 3 friendly scpaces in areas with high Sudanese concentration as Karkar and Nasr Elnuba working on multisectors: - Child Protection: case management for children exposed to protection risks besides providing emergency cash and protection for cash. It will also include mentorship program for children especially the unacompanied and separated children. Additionally there will be capacity building for community leaders and teachers on CP and safeguarding. Furthermore there will be awareness raising for children on their rights besides awareness for their parents as well. - MHPSS: providing groups and individual mental health and psychosocial support to the children in groups and also individually according the care plan of each child. There will be also positive parenting groups conducted for the parents. Moreover there will be community events held to enhance their wellbeing and integration. - Education: it will include renovation for community learning centers of Sudanese community beside training to the teachers on the main technical and socio-emotional mechanisms. The project will provide education grants as well for the children enrolled in these centers. There will be also programs provided to the children who dropped out to enable them to return back to school and other program for children who have weak literacy skills. - Livelihood: the component will have two tracks; wage employment and self employment. The 1st track will include capacity building for the beneficiaries followed by matching to employment opportunity. Beneficiaries will be supported by cash assistance and apprenticeship for 3 months. The 2nd track will be self employment starting with capacity building for the beneficiaries then provision of seed fund to start their business. Beneficiaries will have at least 3 month of coaching and monitoring. Vocational training will be also provided based on need. - Cash Assistance: the project will provide multipurpose cash assistance for vulnerable families besides winteriation assistance as well. There will be also awareness raising on money management for those receiving the cash assistance. - Health: will include emergency nutrition screening and rapid nutritional support provided to newly arrived crisis-affected children and women. Additionally there will be support to the public health system by training provision to staff and providing medical supplies. There will be also trainings for mental health and GBV-related service providers in Aswan. The project will support the establishment of health service points within the community to provide health care services as check up and also providing cash for health. Gender will be mainstreamed across all sectors with focus on gender equality in awareness sessions girls empowerement and health and protection support for GBV cases | |

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Project Implementation: Support the livelihood officer in the planning of the life skills and livelihood activities and lead the daily follow-up on the implementation. Participate and lead the community coaches in the provision of career guidance sessions. S/he will deliver and lead the operations of the training that will be held for the livelihoods participants such as (business employment financial literacy- ) through online and/or offline platforms. This includes responsibility for training material development as needed Lead the outreach activities related to life skills and livelihood activities; Play a key role in the seed fund and cash distribution process. Lead on identifying and conducting the technical training needs for the livelihoods participants through coaching and follow-up sessions. Lead on the seed fund process and the apprenticeship operations and opportunities Ensure that all activities are implemented in line with Save the Childrens policies and procedures and adhere to donor requirements and guidelines. Ensure Child Safeguarding standards are understood and met in liaison with the Child Safeguarding focal point. Documentation and reporting Ensure information is captured accurately on our data collection system. Ensure that the filing system is in place and maintain up-to-date well-organized and accurate case files and records. Prepare monthly field activities and achievements reports. Lead the MEAL activities in the component in coordination with the MEAL unit. Partnerships/Networks In coordination with the livelihoods officer he/she will lead the relation with the projects Community-based organizations and employers. In case of Emergency: Promote childrens rights contributing to their well-being and protection in times of emergencies guided by humanitarian principles and a code of conduct. During emergencies he/she should act in a way that facilitates SCIs response to emergencies giving priority to all assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential: Bachelors degree in Economics business or relevant social science. Minimum of 2 years of experience in livelihood projects (Understanding livelihoods context in Egypt). EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Experience in training and coaching for a specific group of beneficiaries. Ability to deliver training and critically think about the materials content and contextualization to the targeted beneficiary. Ability to network follow-up and advocate with different service providers. Ability to speak with participants one on one or to large groups. Ability to prepare flowcharts schedules and step-by-step action plans Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and good in English is required Commitment to SCI values and Child Safeguarding policy. Desirable: Academic or professional degree in development related fields is desirable. Familiar with Refugees and Migrants context in Egypt and associated political/cultural sensitivities. | |
