Key Responsibilities

  • MATERIAL HANDLING & STORAGE
    • Receive unload and check incoming materials verifying identity quantity and condition.
    • Store and organize materials in designated areas ensuring inventory accuracy and accessibility.
    • Deliver raw materials parts and components to production areas as required.
    • Maintain assigned storage areas in a neat orderly and safe condition.
  • EQUIPMENT OPERATION
    • Safely operate forklifts pallet jacks aisle stackers dollies and other powered or manual material handling equipment.
    • Operate overhead cranes from booth or floor controls to move heavy materials and equipment as required.
    • Perform daily equipment inspection and basic preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles.
  • INVENTORY & DOCUMNTATION
    • Complete and maintain accurate records including packing slips bills of lading shipping/receiving forms and inventory logs.
    • Assist with cycle counts and other inventory control activities to support accuracy and efficiency.
    • Report shortages defects or non-standard material conditions to supervision promptly.
  • SAFETY HOUSEKEEPING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
    • Follow all safety environmental and quality guidelines related to warehouse operations.
    • Maintain clean organized and safe work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team-driven problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Basic math skills (addition subtraction multiplication)
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain required

Experience

  • Six to Twelve (6-12) months of experience in warehouse shipping/receiving or material handling preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts cranes or other material handling equipment is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Reliable safety-conscious and able to work effectively in team environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in manufacturing or warehouse environment with exposure to temperature extremes noise dust and moving equipment.
  • Requires standing walking bending and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed.
  • Must be able to work various shifts or overtime as needed to support production

Wage Rate:

The starting wage for Warehouse Attendant is $27.75 per hour with a shift differential of $1.20 per hour for 2nd and 3rd Shifts. At Xylem we offer a comprehensive compensation package with a generous benefits package including Medical Dental 401(K) with company contribution and vacation.
