1.0 Maintenance 1 - Electrician
Location: Southern Area Schools
Base Location: Kirkland Lake
Start date : December 17 2025
Vacancy Details: 1.0 (Permanent/full-time 40 hours/week - 7:00am to 3:00pm)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Must have a good working knowledge of techniques equipment and tools used in the electrical trade
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and electrical schematic diagrams
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in the electrical systems
- Familiar with HVAC systems and Building Automation Control Systems
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively and maintain progress reports
- Maintaining all necessary electrical inspection reports
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to plan organize and prioritize work
- Repairing maintaining and testing existing systems and equipment
- Installing new circuits lighting receptacles etc. as required
- Preparing material and cost estimates required to complete work orders
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Ontario Electrical Journeyperson Certificate
- Electrical license
- 8 to 10 years of commercial electrical experience
- Valid Class-G Ontario drivers license
- Must have own vehicle to get to work sites
- Currently working in the trade
- Demonstrated experience as an electrician and in related building maintenance
- A valid Globally Harmonized System (GHS) certificate would be considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code
- Training in lock-out/tag-out arc flash fall-arrest and elevating platform lifts would be an asset
- Fire alarm and security system experience is an asset
