As an Application Developer youll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions across two critical platforms: SharePoint and Atlassian. With SharePoint you will Build and support sites Power Apps automated workflows and workplace solutions for functions such as knowledge management booking systems intranet enhancements and process automation. You will also contribute to the Atlassian products ensuring seamless collaboration and optimized workflows across the organisation This will help us excel at keeping our employees connected and efficient to stay ahead of the game.
What youll be doing
As part of your role your responsibilities will include:
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for SharePoint-based solutions and automation projects.
- Apply creative out-of-the-box thinking to address business challenges.
- Assess existing business processes identify inefficiencies and document workflows for improvement.
- Solution Design Development & Delivery: SharePoint
- Architect and design SharePoint solutions to resolve the business problems based on requirements.
- Make use of out of the box SharePoint webparts to develop solutions.
- Utilize Visual Studio to implement custom functions and user interfaces for more complex business problems.
- Integrate SharePoint solutions with other enterprise systems as required.
- Automate using Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Develop scripts for automation beyond UI-based tools (e.g. PowerShell for SharePoint Python for Jira).
- Implement end to end process automation projects.
- Participate in code reviews and product demos.
- Solution Design Development & Delivery: Atlassian
- Work with the Senior Atlassian Administrator to Architect and configure Atlassian solutions (Jira Confluence Service Management) to meet business requirements and optimize workflows.
- Leverage out-of-the-box Atlassian features for building projects spaces and service desks that align with organizational needs.
- Implement automation using Jira Automation and Service Management capabilities to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
- Participate in solution testing configuration reviews and stakeholder demos to validate functionality and gather feedback.
- Build custom dashboards and reports in Jira for stakeholders.
- Ensure best practices for governance security and compliance are applied across all Atlassian environments.
- Stakeholder Training and Documentation
- Showcase solutions to stakeholders through live demos or recordings.
- Create and maintain technical and user documentation.
- Train users on new technologies and solutions implemented.
- Ensure knowledge transfer between team members.
- System Administration
- Maintain access control by granting and revoking access to Atlassian & SharePoint apps and site collections.
- Manage user and security groups by working closely with IT teams.
- Perform troubleshooting debugging and maintenance of SharePoint and Atlassian solutions.
- Security and Compliance Focus
- Ensure ISO and SOX requirements are maintained.
- Apply a security-first mindset in all development and administration activities.
- Innovation and Growth
- Stay current with SharePoint Power Platform and automation technologies.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance existing solutions for better performance.
- Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve business efficiency.
- Research AI trends and explore best practices for leveraging AI in automation.

Essential skills youll bring to the table
The necessary skills that we require for this role include:
- 3-5 years experience as a SharePoint developer with experience in SharePoint 2019/Online.
- 3-5 years experience with development tools like Visual Studio Power Apps and SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
- 2 years experience developing with React.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture web parts and workflows.
- Basic understanding of SharePoint integrations migration and administration.
- Knowledge of SharePoint best practices and industry standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
Desirable skills youve got up your sleeve
It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer Associate
- Knowledge of office365 suite and its integration with SharePoint.
- Experience working in an agile scrum environment.
- Experience with source control and CI/CD with Git and GitHub.
- Knowledge of the following:
- Databases: MS SQL Server / MongoDB
- HTML/CSS
- UML
- Knowledge on Atlassian Administration Architecture and backend functions.
- Any certification through Atlassian University.
