As Intern - Shop Transformation Engineer you will join the Service team and gain a unique end-to-end view of the maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) process for aircraft engines and components in high-reliability and complex enviroment. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance material and information flow supporting business growth and measurable improvements in Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC). You will also benefit from mentorship from experienced professionals and learning pathways in Lean data analysis and process transformation.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the definition tracking and maintenance of KPIs to measure process effectiveness and improvement outcomes
- Promote and support structured problem-solving during the operating cadence ensuring timely follow-up and closure of actions
- Share and standardize best practices across production cells to drive replication and sustain results
- Ensure milestone adherence for assigned projects; manage priorities and respond quickly to changes
- Support the evaluation and resolution of SQDC issues verifying the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
- Contribute to Lean activities such as: Value Stream Mapping 5S Kaizen events standard work and system integration to simplify flows and reduce waste.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering preferably Industrial/Management Engineering
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing fundamentals (VSM Muda Mura Muri 5S Kanban Jidoka etc.)
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Process-oriented with an analytical mindset (data mining data analysis)
- Fluent in Italian and good command of English
- Work visa in accordance with local regulations as applicable

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Solid interpersonal influencing and collaborative leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and execution
- Familiarity with visual collaboration tools (e.g. Miro) is a plus
- Curious proactive and eager to learn
- Problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
