Position Head of NSC APAC

Reporting to Global Head of NSC and APAC Head of Sectors
ING WB has a presence in 11 markets across Asia with branches across 8 markets Singapore China Australia Taiwan Hong Kong Korea Japan and Philippines. The NSC APAC team is responsible for managing INGs network business with subsidiaries of international companies in APAC. The team consists of Regional Account Managers (RAM) with regional APAC responsibility and Local Account Managers (LAM) covering local subsidiaries.
This role is Managing Director title with a hierarchical reporting line into the APAC Head of Sector and a functional reporting line into the Global Head of NSC.
JOB OVERVIEW
As Head of NSC APAC based in Singapore you will lead a high-performing entrepreneurial NSC APAC team in managing and growing INGs network business across the region. You will provide strategic oversight and leadership to Regional and Local Account Managers ensuring alignment with INGs global strategy and optimizing client coverage across APAC. You will leverage deep experience in both emerging and developed markets to drive business origination and innovation. You will be responsible for driving business development client relationship management and cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders and senior management. A proven track record in sustainability regulatory engagement and complex deal structuring is highly valued.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the NSC APAC team ensuring effective team performance client coverage and business development across the region. Foster a culture of innovation and high performance drawing on experience leading teams in diverse markets.
- Develop and execute regional strategies to grow INGs network business with multinational clients in APAC. These include European Middle East US headquartered clients (EMEA/US MNC) with subsidiaries in APAC and also APAC headquartered clients (Intra-APAC MNC). Experience with Sovereign Wealth Funds government entities and sustainability-focused clients is a plus.
- Oversee relationship management and business origination for key NSC client relationships ensuring alignment with global account plans.
- Drive financial performance including revenue growth return on capital and new deal origination across the APAC portfolio.
- Act as senior point of contact for strategic clients and internal stakeholders representing INGs interests in APAC.
- Foster collaboration with Country Head of Sectors and Parent Account Managers in outbound countries and Local Account Managers in APAC to deliver seamless client service. Leverage experience in cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies including KYC and risk management. Experience navigating complex regulatory environments is a plus.
- Promote INGs brand and capabilities in the local business community and industry forums.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects at APAC and global NSC level.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 20 years of experience in the banking industry with significant exposure to client coverage and leadership roles. Global exposure and experience working across diverse markets is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of INGs internal commercial and risk approval procedures. This is a person that should be good connecting dots withing the organization.
- Excellent communication skills with strong command of spoken and written English; additionally you will need to liaise with European language speaking clients.
- Proven track record in managing international client portfolios and leading high-performing teams. Track record for sustainability leadership and green finance solutions is a plus.
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership track record. Global experience with clients
- University degree in Finance/Economics or a relevant discipline.
