Location:Greensville Centre 625 Harvest RoadDundas ONL9H 5K8
Schedule: Monday to Friday between 7:00am to 6:00pm shifts
Pay Rate (includes wage grants):

RECE: $27.36per hour
Non-RECE: $22.70per hour

Who Were Looking For

Experience:

Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children OR related experience in a childcare setting working with school-age children is preferred but not required

Education:

Diploma in a field related to childcare such as Early Childhood Education is an advantage
A Diploma in Child & Youth Worker Child and Youth Care OCT Education Assistant Social Worker or Recreation & Leisure may also be considered.

Certifications:

Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) is preferred but not required
Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Up-to-date immunization for TB Tetanus and MMR

Skills:

Knowledge of the Ministry of Educations How Does Learning Happen framework is an asset.

Characteristics:

Willingness to work in an on-call capacity with flexible scheduling
Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week Monday to Friday within the 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM time frame.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced flexible environment with minimal supervision
Flexibility and adaptability to be assigned in multiple locations with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to assigned childcare centres to support full- and part-time staff
Establishing goals planning implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate activities to support childrens cognitive physical social and emotional growth in line with the How Does Learning Happen framework
Maintaining a safe nurturing and engaging environment for children while fostering professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty
